Trevana is still at the beginning of its journey, and we’d love you to be part of it.
Whether you’re a local resident, business, school, community organisation or simply curious about what we’re creating, we’ve answered some of the questions we’re asked most often below.
As Trevana evolves, so will this page.
About Trevana
What is Trevana?
Trevana is a community-led landscape where nature, learning and wellbeing come together.
We’re creating a place where biodiversity can flourish, people can reconnect with nature and future generations can learn, explore and grow.
More than a destination, Trevana is an invitation to be part of something bigger, creating lasting value for Cornwall through nature, community and shared experiences.
Why is Trevana being created?
We believe healthier landscapes create healthier communities.
Trevana is being created to demonstrate how caring for the land can encourage biodiversity, strengthen communities and inspire healthier ways of living.
As the landscape evolves, so too will the opportunities to learn, move, connect and spend time together.
What stage is the project currently at?
Trevana is in its early development phase. We’re continuing to refine the vision, engage with local communities, businesses and partners, and explore how the project can deliver long term value for Cornwall. As plans evolve, we’ll continue sharing updates and inviting people to be part of the journey.
Is Trevana open yet?
No. Trevana is still in the planning and development stage.
By following our Journal and social channels, you’ll be able to stay up to date with progress, milestones and opportunities to get involved.
The Journey
Can the plans still change?
Yes.
Trevana is a long-term vision, and community feedback forms an important part of that journey.
As ideas develop, partnerships grow and conversations continue, elements of the vision may evolve. That’s exactly why we’re inviting people to get involved from the beginning.
Will there be opportunities for local involvement?
Yes.
Community engagement is an important part of how we want Trevana to evolve. As plans develop, we’ll be listening to local people, schools, businesses and organisations, sharing progress openly and creating opportunities for people to contribute ideas, partnerships and feedback along the way.
Why are you sharing the project before it’s built?
Because we believe the journey is just as important as the destination.
Trevana is being shaped over time, and we’d love the community to be part of that process from the very beginning.
By sharing our progress openly, we hope to inspire ideas, build partnerships and create something that genuinely reflects Cornwall and the people who call it home.
When do you expect Trevana to open?
It’s too early to confirm a timeline.
Rather than working to a fixed deadline, we’re focused on getting it right. That means taking the time to listen, learn and make considered decisions that create long term value for both people and nature.
How can I stay updated?
You can register your interest, follow us on social media and visit our Journal to keep up to date with progress, milestones and opportunities to get involved.
We’re excited to share the journey with you.
Nature & Regeneration
Is Trevana focused on environmental regeneration?
Yes.
Caring for the land sits at the heart of everything we’re creating.
Through habitat creation, biodiversity enhancement and thoughtful landscape design, we hope Trevana will demonstrate how nature and people can thrive together.
As the landscape evolves, it will become a place where visitors can experience the positive impact of regenerative thinking first hand.
Why does biodiversity matter?
Biodiversity is simply the variety of life that keeps our natural environment healthy.
From wildflowers and pollinators to birds, wetlands and woodlands, every habitat plays a role.
By creating spaces where nature can flourish, we’re also creating healthier places for people to enjoy.
Why is water such an important part of the vision?
Water is one of the foundations of a healthy landscape.
It supports wildlife, creates habitats, helps strengthen biodiversity and provides beautiful places for people to connect with nature.
We hope Trevana will demonstrate how thoughtful water management can support healthier landscapes for the future.
Community
Who is Trevana for?
Trevana is being designed with both local people and visitors in mind.
Our ambition is to create a welcoming place where people of all ages can connect with nature, prioritise wellbeing, learn new things and spend quality time together.
Whether that’s meeting friends for coffee, enjoying a sauna, taking part in movement classes, attending events or simply spending time outdoors, we hope Trevana becomes a place people genuinely enjoy returning to.
Will local people be able to use Trevana?
Absolutely.
One of our biggest priorities is creating a destination that local people feel proud of and connected to.
We want Trevana to become part of Cornwall’s community fabric, providing opportunities for local people to gather, move, learn and enjoy time in nature throughout the year.
How will Trevana benefit Cornwall?
Everything we’re doing is guided by a simple ambition: to create something that delivers lasting value for Cornwall, both environmentally and socially.
Our ambition is for Trevana to create positive local impact through:
- Supporting Cornish businesses and suppliers
- Creating employment opportunities
- Providing spaces for community connection
- Encouraging year round visits and economic activity
- Developing educational opportunities for young people
- Promoting healthy, active lifestyles
- Contributing positively to Cornwall’s future
How can local businesses get involved?
We’re keen to collaborate with local businesses, suppliers, charities, schools, community groups and organisations throughout the journey. If you think there’s an opportunity to work together, we’d love to start the conversation.
Learning
What role will education play?
Education sits at the heart of Trevana’s future vision.
We hope to work alongside schools, colleges and community organisations to create opportunities that inspire young people through hands-on learning experiences.
These may explore topics such as:
- • Entrepreneurship and business
- • Sustainability and circular economy thinking
- • Biodiversity and environmental awareness
- • Land stewardship
- • Future career opportunities
- • Building confidence and practical life skills
We believe investing in young people is one of the most meaningful ways we can invest in Cornwall’s future.
Will schools and community groups be able to visit?
That is certainly part of our ambition.
As the project develops, we’d love to create opportunities for schools, youth organisations and community groups to engage with Trevana through educational visits, workshops and experiences that connect learning with the outdoors.
Get Involved
How can I share an idea or get involved?
We’re always keen to hear from local people, businesses, schools and organisations who share our vision. Whether you’d like to explore a partnership, contribute an idea or simply stay informed, we’d love to hear from you.
Still have a question?
Trevana is still evolving, and so are the conversations around it.
If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
Whether it’s a question, an idea or simply a conversation, every message helps shape the future of Trevana.
